POINTS FROM LETTERS

"When inspecting the new railway station I was surprised and almost pained at a verandah frame projecting from the main entrance (writes "Cut' It Out"). The appearance of the entrance with its fine pillars is spoilt by this structure. I am unable to understand why it should be allowed to mar this portion of a beautiful piece of work. All the shelter that will be gained is not worth considering, while in a howling southerly the verandah would be entirely useless as a shelter. It is to be sincerely hoped that it will be removed."
