TE ARO SCHOOL DANCE
Although there were severe -wintry conditions on Saturday evening a large number rof parents and friends attended the social and dance held by the Home and School Association in the Te Aro,School. Realising that the easiest way of; keeping warm was to keep moving" briskly the dancers soon entered into' the spirit of the evening and- a cheery atmosphere prevailed throughout. The winners of the "lucky spot" were Mrs. M. Abernethy and Mr. A. H. , Young, and the "Monte Carlo" was won by. Miss I. Greenfield and Mr. M. Ritchie. A euchre tournament was staged for those who did not wish to dance, the prize-winners being as follows:—Mrs. J. Young and Mr. Greenfield, first; Mrs. N. Lecf and Mr. J. Young, second. Appreciated items were rendered during the evening by Mrs. M. Hartley, Miss Terris Rigby, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Child, Miss Margaret Oates, and Mr. H. G. Rogers. Mr. G. A. Vincent thanked those present for their co-operation and said the associationl proposed to hold)such, a function-'every, month to raise-funds lor sports material iov the school- , children.
