CHILDREN'S PARTY
The children's party held iii aid of the funds of the Y.W.C.A. on Saturday afternoon proved an unqualified success. Under the leadership of "Uncle Campbell," of 2YA, a merry throng, most of them clad in fancy costumes of astonishing variety and charm, enjoyed a succession of rousing games, songs, and dances which, besides laughing defiance at the weather, prepared all the little people for the special party tea with which they were regaled, while the many parents present were served with afternoon tea..
Besides a- programme -of dancing items, given by the pupils of Miss Jean Home, there were balloons for all, a bran tub, and a sweet stall. A recitation was givfen by Miss Valeric Russell.
Prizes were won by children depicting the following characters:—"Spanish Toreador," "Bee," "Shepherdess," "The Queen of Hearts," "Hawaiian girl," "Sugar Lumps,;' "80-peep," arid a pair in Eighteenth Century costumes, "Bisto Twins," and a pair in Georgian costume.
