THE MCARTHUR CASE

It is expected that several days will be occupied in the Supreme Court by the hearing of the. charges against J. W. S. McArthur relating to the .issue of allegedly false prospectuses and reports. The case is to begin before the Acting Chief • Justice (Sir John Reed) and a jury on Monday morning. The case iox the Crown is to be conducted by .Mr. V. R. Meredith, Crown Prosecutor at Auckland, and by Mr. C. Evans-Scott, of Wellington, who was in charge of the prosecution in the Magistrate's Court. For McArthur, Mr. H. F. O'Leary, K.C., will appear, having with him Mr. R. E. Tripe.
