SHIPPING DELAYED

The spell of wet and stormy weather winch has extended over, the greater part of the Dominion has affected to some extent the movement of shinping around the coast. Although this has not resulted, in any serious disorganisation, the schedules of several of the overseas cargo, and passenger vessels have been slightly altered. The Cambridge,, which was to have left here yesterday for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge of her New York cargo, is now expected to get away today, and the Matakana, which £ loading at Wellington for the United Kingdom, is now to leave on. Monday for Gisborne and Auckland to complete.

Overseas vessels delayed at other ports include the Hangitata, which has been held up owing to bad weather conditions at Port Chalmers, and will not y now get away for Auckland until daybreak on Tuesday to continue discharge, and the Brisbane Maru, which arrived at Dunedin this morning from Japan, .and is not now expected at Wellington, via Lyttelton, until next Wednesday. The Surrey, discharging Liverpool cargo at Auckland, was expected here on Monday, but she will not now get away from Auckland until Monday, and^ is due here on Wednesday. InTn g kter. for Lytte"on. Duned^ and Oamaru to complete discharge of her cargo. The Fordsdale has been

held up at Bluff, and will leave on Tuesday for Napier.

Coastal shipping has been adversely affected by the storm, and the continued rain has naturally hampered the handling of cargo and thus enforced the postponement of departures from Wellington. This has resulted in a general disorganisation of the shipping in port and around the coast.
