PLAYERS' CLAIMS

"There are many good Rugoy players in this Dominion if they are only given the chance, and now is the time to bring those men forward," writes a correspondent ("Bayite"). "In vieV of the selection of a New Zealand team to play the Australians, I take this opportunity to point c#t one valuable player, Rolls, of HawKe's Bay. I have seen this player on many occasions, and never once has he been lower than representative standard. I hope that he will be right on form against Wellington to show the selectors that he is worth his place in any team.

"Bradley is also a great five-eighths, and, as Now Zealand is weak in this department he also will have an excellent chance of selection. * I have seen him play in club matches . this season, and' on several occasions has saved his side from possible defeat. Peterson, of Wairarapa, is also another player who will need watching by the New Zealand selectors." .

The St. Patrick's forwards were easily the strongest hall of the St. Patrick's team in the game against Hutt. Their scrummaging and. line-out play was aggressive and their tackling was sound. Todd and Cunningham were frequently to the fore in dribbling movements. Dennehy played an excellent roving game, particularly at the end of the line-outs, whree he harassed Manders and Sargisson, forcing them to pass earlier than they would otherwise have done.
