before long one may be walking into a hardware store,and asking for a tin of white -paint, vanilla flavour, if a new"'plan for "killing" the odour of paint is generally adopted. In a statement issued by the National Paint, Varnish, and Lacquer Association of America, it is disclosed that ordinary vanillin —one , part in 2000 -parts of paint—is rated very highly for deodourising, or rather changing the odour, of paint to one that is not obnoxious. - The vanillin may be dissolved in turpentine or linseed oil to make a concentrated base, 'whichl can be added in the proportion referred to above when treating interior paints.
