SHOE MILAGE

How much shoe leather does a postman wear out in his daily walk? Figures bearing on the subject were given out recently by a Mount: Vernbn, New York,* postman, who said on the completion of thirty years' service that he had used up 363 pairs of shoes. Another postman, whb has also just completed thirty years' ! service, didn't know how many shoes he had used, but said he had covered 135,000 miles. Assuming both men covered about, the same distance, the "shoe milage" works out at 370 miles per pair.
