THE KING'S AERODROME
Work has begun on improving and extending the King's private aerodrome at Smith's Lawn, Windsor Great Park Mr. E. H. Savill, Deputy Surveyor of Crown Lands at Windsor, said to a representative of the "Daily Telegraph""The King wishes to have a landing ground suitable for the accommodation of all kinds of aircraft
"No hangars or. buildings of any description are to be erected on the ground," he added. "The work will be confined to extending and levelling the present landing ground, which will become one of the finest mv the country. About a quarter of a mile will be added to the aerodrome, which will be taken as far as the cricket ground used by the Windsor Park Club." The contract has been given to Bradshaw Bros., of Leicester, the head of which, Mr. Ernest Bradshaw, was wounded four times in the war, and as a result is so severely crippled that he is unable to walk. In spite of this handicap he has superivsed during the last twelve months the laying out of ten air ports, including the Coventry municipal aerodrome.
