BALANCE OF TRADE POLICY

NEW YORK, May 27,

The "New York Times," in a leader, says that the Australians seem to be imitating the Nazi policy of trying to secure a balance of trade with each country, a policy which, if spread internationally, would be more ruinous to Australia, than to most countries. "If it,thinks its direct trade with us is lopsidedly in our favour, it should recall that its direct trade with many other countries is just as lopsidedly in its favotir."
