ON DUTY AGAIN
MINISTERS IN TOWN
MR. SAVAGE RETURNS
Today saw many of the Cabinet Ministers back in their offices in Parliament Buildings. With the exception of the Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education and Health, who is not expected back until Wednesday morning, the others are due in the capital tomorrow, in time for the first Cabinet meeting of the New Year on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister (the Hon. M. J. Savage) arrived from Auckland this morning, but did not attend his office during the morning. Another arrival was the Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, who has returned from a health-recruiting trip much benefited. During his sojourn in the north he inspected a number of public works undertakings in the Rotorua and Auckland districts, and also visited the Prison Farm at Hautu, where he was much impressed with the work being done in the pumice land. On Friday next Mr. Semple will leave for a tour of inspection of the West Coast and the South Island main trunk railway construction. He will be accompanied by the Hon. P.*C. Webb, Minister of Mines, and expects to be away about a fortnight.
The Hon. W. Nash, Minister of Finance, arrived in Wellington on Saturday night, and the Hon. W. L. Martin, Minister of Agriculture, reached Wellington today. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, was also busy in his office today. The Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, has been in Wellington for some days. •
Those expected tomorrow are the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce; the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, Minister of Employment and Labour; the. Hon. F. Jones, Post-master-General; the Hon.-P. C. Webb; and Mr. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under-Secretary to the Prime Minister.
