SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS.

During the weekend the anticyclone which had been controlling the weather during the previous few days gradually disappeared off the Dominion and a depression has advanced across the Tasman Sea. This is now causing rain in , the southern part of the South Island. Winds changed from southerlies to north-easterlies over the South Island yesterday and the change to northerlics is gradually extending northwards. Until this morning fair and warm weather has been almost general.
