TIVOLI THEATRE.

j "Payment Deferred," with Charles Laugh ton and Verrce Teasdale in the mam roles, and "Transatlantic Merry-Go-Round," are to be shown finally at the Tivoli Theatre tonight.

A glamorous pageant of music, drama, mirth, and beauty is unfolded lin "Naughty Marietta," starring Jeanctte Mac Donald and Nelson Eddy, which is to commence at the Tivoli Theatre tomorrow. "Naughty Marietta" marks a new departure in screen entertainment. Jeanette Mac Donald has never appeared to greater advantage than she does in this production, and her singing and that of Nelson Eddy, the handsome young operatic baritone, is a sheer delight. The story is staged on a spectacular scale. Huge settings, gorgeous costumes, and intense dramatic action embellishing such song hits as "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life," "I'm Falling in Love with Someone," "Chansonelte," "Tr-2 Italian Street Song," and other immortal Herbert music. W. S; Van Dyke, directing! injected many deft touches of artistry into the romance of the French princess who fled to escape a State marriage, and found romance in a young English army officer. The pirate capture of the ship bearing the Casquette Girls, the great "Marriage Auction," the fight in the Everglades between scouts and pirates, the recapture of the princess, are among the dramatic'highlights of the production. The additional feature will be "Lazy River," with Robert Young and Jean Parker leading a strong cast. The mysterious backwater Bayous of Louisiana —the

"Cajuns," least known of all American peoples—the smuggling of Chinese on the Gulf Coast—and romance under warm southern skies, are all blended into "Lazy River." Jean Parker and Robert Young are pictured, as young lovers who bring fastmoving adventure and conflict into the sheltered world of an obscure fishing village. Both give portrayals that surpass their recent efforts, including Young's role in "Tugboat Annie." and Miss Parker's great triumph in "Little Women."
