The M.C.C.-Southland cricket match was continued this morning in dull, warm weather, on a good wicket. There was a fair attendance of spectators. The English bowling troubled the Southland batsmen. Wesney was dismissed for a "duck" and McGowan was given out lbw after scoring 1. At 12.15 p.m. rain caused play to be abandoned until the luncheon adjournment.

Spence appeared to be well set when he spooned up an easy catch to Read off the first ball from Langridge. Details:— M.C.C. First innings ~ 489 southland; , First Innings.
