Mr. J. Thorn, M.P., for Thames, stated today that the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. R. Semple) was giving sympathetic consideration to i request for the early construction of the Thames Aerodrome. Mr. Semple also undertook to inquire into representations for an aerodrome at Wha ngamata. the most southern port on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, twenty-three miles northeasl of Waihi. Mr. Thorn said that Mr.' Philip Williamson, a member of the Thames County Council and a resident of Whangamata, had offered a gift of one hundred acres for the purpose of this aerodrome site.
