KHARTOUM WRECK

BODIES RECOVERED

MAILS FOR NEW ZEALAND

(Received January 4, 11 a.m.)

LONDON, January 3.

Divers recovered the bodies of Mrs. Horsman, Miss Eckford, the steward, Richardson, and the Italian, Signor Tar-

teglione.

It will probably be impossible to raise the wreck, the hawsers on the tugs and crane have- already broken twice.

Imperial Airways estimate that approximately one-third of the mail destined for Australia and New Zealand was lost in the City of Khartoum, which carried early bags, but mail posted within about eighteen hours closing time, the bulk of which is safe, was carried by a sister 'plane.
