Mr. F. Tarrant's Australian eleven defeated an India eleven by eight wickets. There was rain the night before the match, which commenced yesterday, with a strong sun in the morning. Ryder won the toss, but sent the home side to the wickets.
India, in their first innings, made 48—Wazir Ali 20, Mushtaquali 13, Amarnath 0, C. K. Nayudu 5, Mohd Hussain 0, Yuvraj of Patiala 1, C. S. Nayudu 0, Naqajilani 3, Abdul Aziz not out 0, Nissar 0, Shah Abuddin 0, extras 6.
Bowling: Leather took no wickets for 11 runs, Nagel none for 7, Oxenham seven for 7, Macartney three for 17.
In their second innings India made 127—Wazir Ali 2, Abdul Aziz 12, C. K. Nayudu 5, Hussain 10, Yuvraj of Patiala 32, C. S. Nayudu 8, Mushtaquali 4, Naqa Jilani 0, Amarnath 39, Shah Abuddin, not out, 4, Nissar 0, extras 11.
Bowling: Leather took five wickets for 29 rims, Nagel none for 15, MacCartney three for 42, Oxenham two for 30.
Tarrant's team, in their first innings, made 99—Wendel Bill 16, Bryant 29, Morrisby 0, Ryder 7, Hendry 4, Macartney 11, Nagel 0, Oxenham 2, Ellis not out 9, Mair 6, Leather 0; extras 15.
