OFFICERS FORM UNION
LONDON, December 31
Merchant officers have formed a nonparty trade union, of which Admiral Nelson Ward is president and Captain Coombs secretary.
The latter says that as the outcome of the failure of the Government and shipping industry to heed reasonable representations, the union will now press for a 25 per cent, increase in pay, one month's annual leave, contributory pensions, and regulation of hours. ____^_______
