"Charlie Chan in Egypt," a thrilling, engrossing, and Ingenious picture of Warner Oland's "Chan" series, is at the ' State Theatre, Petone. It is the story of Charlie Chan's thrilling adventures in the land of the Pharaohs. Pat Paterson, as a daughter of an expedition leader, gives excellent support to Warner Oland, arid Stephin Fetchit, as a native of the desert who becomes Charlie Chan's strange and frightened aide, creates many comic situations. The bewitching Rita Cansino displays her charms to good advantage. Intending patrons will be wise to book early (theatre telephone 63-899).
