New Zealand's imports and exports oE timber, in value, are. reported for the month of November by the State Forestry Department ■as follows:— Imports.—From Australia, £24,448 (including sleepers, £15,187; hardwood logs and poles, £5049; other hardwoods £3955); Canada, £3774 (including Douglas fir, £3015); Japan, oak, £3011; Sweden, timber for butter boxes, £2096; U.S.A., £2393 (including redwood, £2045); others, £176. Exports.—To Australia, £34,084 (including rimu, £6461; white pine, £17,288; beech, £5853; matai. £3910); United Kingdom, £1789 (including kauri £1466); Pacific Islands, £1374 (including timber for cases, £1271).

A good demand in England for Canadian silver fox skins is foreseen by J. D. Forbes, managing director of the London Fur Sales Company, as stocks on hand at present are considerably below last year's supplies at this time.
