TIMARU WOOL SALE CHEQUE.

The amount of the cheque for the December wool sale at Timaru was £174,000, when 12,200 bales were sold out of a catalogue exceeding 12,500 bales. At the first sale of the season last year the number of bales sold was 8067, out of 8417 offered, and the amount paid out was £83,008. The increase in the number of bales sold was, therefore, 4133, and the increase in the amount paid out about £91,000.
