FARM HAND IN HOSPITAL.
FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF HIS
DEATH
Tne first anniversary of the death of Archbishop Redwood, former Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington, and Metropolitan of New Zealand, falls tomorrow and will be marked by the celebration of the prescribed Solemn Requiem Mass at St. Mar;' of the Angels Pro-Cathedral, Boulcott Street. Tho service will commence at 10 a.m.
The celebrant of the solemn pontifical requiem will be the Most Rev. Dr. T. O'Shea, S.M., Archbishop of Wellington. The assistant priest will be the Very Rev. D. H. Hurley, S.M., Provincial of the Society of Mary, and the assistants at the throne will be the Very Rev^ Archpriest Kelly (Newtown) and the Very Rev. V. McManus, C.SS.R., Superior of the Redemptorist Fathers. The deacon and sub-deacon of the Mass will be the Rev. B. Keegan (Kilbirnie) and the Rev. R. Gilhooly, D.D. (St. Joseph's). The master of ceremonies will be the Rev. F. M. Rasmussen, S.M., D.D. A choir of priests will sing the Gregorian Requiem Mass. Mrs. G. P. Aldridge will preside at the organ.

A remarkable escape from, injury was experienced by Leslie Tremain, aged 23, a farm hand, of Inaha, when a touring car left the Main South Road at. Corrigan's Hill, near Hawera, at 1.30 a.m. today and plunged into some' willow trees. A thick limb swept the hood off the car and pushed the steering wheel into the back seal, but Mr. Tremain, who is now in hospital, escaped serious injury. There was no one else in the car.
