DARING THEFT

MONEY TAKEN FROM TILL

ROTORUA, This Day. A daring theft was perpetrated on Tuesday morning, when a bag containing approximately £70 in notes and silver was stolen from the till of a business firm in ' Tutanekai Street, Rotorua. The money, which consisted chiefly of bundles of £5 and £1 notes, together with about £8 in silver, had been placed in the bag preparatory to being taken to the bank. While the assistant in charge of the shop was absent from the counter for a few moments the bag was removed from the till without any sign of any person having, entered the shop. The police are investigating.
