The Governor-General, Lord Galway, has announced that his Majesty has been graciously pleased on the occasion of the New Year to confer the following honours Precognition of services rendered to the Dominion: — Kni(rht Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (K.8.E.): GEORGE SHIRTCLIFFE, 0.8. Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.): CECIL ALBERT JEFFERY, chief private secretary to the Prime Minister. WILLI FELS, of Dunedin. Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.8.E.): CHARLES JOHN McKENZIE, Englneer-in-Chief and Under-Secre-tary to the Public Works Department, Wellington. Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (0.8. E.): MRS. MAUDE ELIZABETH PARKES, of Auckland.
