NORTH V. SOUTH ISLAND
One of the most interesting features of the current cricket season will'be the playing, for the-third time-in the Dominion's history> of a match between teams representing the North and South Islands. The game, which is to be played at the Basin Eeserve on Friday; Saturday, and Monday ■next, will constitute a welcome addition to the season's engagements, which'"would otherwise have • included few attrac.tions apart from the Plunket Shield series.1 It is particularly fortunate for Wellington that the match is ,ttf be played here, since this is .one- of Wellington's off "seasons in the.'Piunket Shield competition, only the" Ota^o'-match','being played at the Basin Eeserve. The'! Auckland touriag team'was_ seen in a brief friendly gamd, but_ Wellingtonians have' had no opportunity of'watching players from Canterbury where ,rthe Plunked Shield, will find a resting-place until next season. Two' strong teams, which have»the appearance I of being evenly, matched, will be placed' on thefield, and it is difficult to say which way the result will go. Play will commence each day at 11 a.m. Further partis I culars are given in tha advertising columns.
