Unemployed at Merthyr broke a police cordon.and smashed windows and overturned furniture in the' local unemployment offices after 1000 women had marched in procession-thither to complain of the recent cuts. Seven hundred- .unemployed demonstrated at Redruth, demanding .the withdrawal of the Act.
