With Miss Sullavan appears Douglass Montgomery. The story concerns Johannes Pinneberg, a young German clerk, and his sweetheart, "Lamarchen," who marry suddenly and without financial resources because they discover that Lamarchen is to have a child. Johannes loses his'job, and then develops a sequence of events in Berlin. Lamiircheu always philosophically looks to the future with confidence and bolsters up her man's courage and eventually he secures a position in Belgium. .
