Ruth Logan was wide out while running over a mile and a half in 3min ii 2-ssec. She worked freely. Pi-ince de Oro's non-acceptance -is explained by the fact that he failed badly to give a maiden pacer three seconds' start from the mile and a quarter, going 2min 50sec and tiring. Bracken went two miles in 4min 40 sec. After going the first half-mile in lmin lOsec, she was joined by Edgar Wallace and they ran the last mile in 2min. 19sec, finishing together. Native Son recorded 2min 15 2-ssec for a mile of his task.

Levity joined Bingen Palm after the latter had strolled over half a mile in lmin 17sec, and the pair did the mile and a half in 3min 31 2-ssec; The last' mile, took 2min 18 2-ssec and the last half-mile lmin'6 2-ssec, with- both horses always going nicely.

The trotter Flotsam went a quarter of a mile in 34 l-ssec,: and was. then joined by Resound, who,, however, broke at the end. of two furlongs,: and Flotsam went on alone1 to complete a mile and a half in 3min 26£ sec, the last mile in 2min 17£ sec. Otama Chimes, Finnebrogue,' Racketeer, and Grace McElwyn went away in'that order from the mile and a half post, and they were joined after going four furlongs by Blandford (saddle). Racketeer and Grace McElwyh did the best, the former going 3min 29' l-ssec and Grace McElwyn. slightly faster. Grace McElwyn is the only one of these horses making thetrip'to Hutt Park.

Agile, Pronto Bingen, and Somerby went away.from the mile.and a half post in that order, with the last-named giving Agile three seconds start. Agile ran the first half-mile in lmin Bsec, the mile in 2min 16 '4-ssec, and held his own in the run • home to record 3min 20 l-ssec, the last half-mile in lmin 3 2-ssec- He did his work well. Pronto Bingen went 3min 19^4-Ssec and Somerby 3min 18 4-ssec. However, Agile was not extended and was the most impressive. ________
