HAWERA TRACK JOTTINGS
(Special from "Limited.")
HAWERA, This Day.
Several winding-up 'gallops by the Hawera horses engaged at New Plymouth were performed yesterday morning. The plough, owing to recent rain, was. greasy and hardly, fit for fast work. The gallop of Aga Khan (Feasey) and .Carfex (Cole) was of little comparative value, but both horses are in the pink of condition. Carfex handled the slippery going better than his companion and finished in front, the five furlongs occupying lmin 5. 4-ssec. .• Diagario (Edgecombe) was allotted strong pace work, working freely. On the outside of the course'proper the pegs were out 33 feet. Daivet (Feasey) and Panlbff (Duncan) were together throughout a trip over four furlongs in 52£ sec. Daivet's effort was his best so far.
