WAR FUNDS

ADMINISTRATION COSTS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHEISTCHUECH, This Day.

j A complaint by the Auckland Bo- ! turned Soldiers' Association that the administrative costs of the various war funds, including the National War Funds, Canteen funds, the Ked Cross funds, and ' the patriotic funds, were unduly high, was not supported by the executive of the Christchurch E.S.A. yestereve. Several members, including the president, said that the administration costs were in no case unduly high, and no investigation could reduce the expenses. It was decided to take no action.

Mr. Bootli, the newly-appointed Eotone Borough Inspector, has taken up his duties, and -was welcomed to the- borough by the Mayor (Mr. A. Scholefield)' last evening.
