UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S CLUB
Te Wharepuni Circie, University) Women's Club, listened with much enjoyment recently to Mrs. Gillingham, who gave an address dealing with a visit to Africa.
Miss M. Seaton, in introducing the speaker, remarked on the unique nature of her tour.
Mrs. Gillingham described the trip to Durban and thence by interesting stages to Jonannesburg, Pretoria, Lourenzo Marquess, and the great Victoria Palls. \ The address was illustrated by a map and by numerous view cards, the latter embracing the full range of the tour. Mrs. Gillingham said she was keenly, alive to the unique beauty of the South African flora, and displayed a line collection of coloured plates of the native flowers. She also told of a-journey through a game reserve, where lions roam unchecked.
On the motion of Miss Vickery a. hearty vote o£ thanks was accorded the speaker, and at supper time opportunity was given to ask her many que*> tions about her interesting tour.
