VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND
A picturesque party of five arrived from Tahiti by the Makura today. They were Mr. H. Weaver Hawkins, an "English artist, and his wife and three young children, all deeply tannod by tho Tahitian sun after a stay of fourteen months on the island, mid wearing wide-brimmed straw hats that attracted considerable attention.
Mr. Hawkins was an art student in England before the war, und ho received an injury in France that seemed likely to spoil his career. Both arms were affected, but ho set about learning a new co-ordination of muscle and sense, and his paintings became- widely known.
