CRICKET IN OTHER CENTRES
The following are the results of cricket mate-lies in other centres as supplied by the Press Association: — Dunedin. —Senior cricket matches word begun on wickets that were soft after recent rain. It was the earliest start that has ever been made in the senior competition. Albion, 155 (Miller 54, Sinclair four for 31, Denham two for 26), met University 12 for no wickets. Against Grange, Carisbrook B made 139 (E. M. Proctor 32, Elmes five for 35); Grange responding with 57 for three (Newman three lor 24). High School Old Boys, 120 (Gale 70, Nobel four for 11) met Dunedin, 9!) for six (Cavanagli 46 Dickinson three for 2(5). Carisbrook A dismissed Christian Brothers for 52 (Kerr four for 18, Dunning four for 23), and then made 133 for two (D. Cameron (57 not out, H. Cameron 40 not out). The Colts team made a good start, scoring 160 (Saxton 82, Constable four for 42), and dismissing throe Kaikorai men for 20. Christenurch.— The season for most summer sports opened on Saturday. The weather was unseasonable, and ram which threatened actually began to fall before play ceased. Playing St. Albans. West Christchurch scored 3IS for eight, wickets (Gregory 110, Allen 03. if. D. Smith 54, Prako 49). l'lnyinji Kast Chvistchnrch, Old Boys were all out for 110 (Allsopp six for 35). East C'liriptcliurch wore one wicket for 2n. Hiocarlon, 124 (Hamilton six for 33), played Sydcnliain (one for 44). Playing Lancaster Park, Old Colirgians n-cii: 20'J for four wickets (Letter 41} not out).
