Mrs. Guy Pascoe, Christchurch, who returned to New Zealand by tho Port Duncdin last week, will pass through Wellington tomorrow on licr way south. ilr. ami Mrs. Kaua Wugg, Lower llutt, have returned from AY'angaiiui. Mrs. Biehard Moore, Cashmcro Hills, is visiting Wellington, Miss Sheila Kennedy, London, arrived by the Monowai today to pay a, round of visits to friends in New Zealand. She will stay first with Mrs. A. W. Blair, Ecclcston Hill. Miss Jean Todhunter arrived from Sydney today by the Monowai to stay with her sister, Mrs. J. H. Sutton, " Sunnydene,' ' Hawera. Mrs. D. L. Kutherford ("Morna," North Canterbury), who left in April for a visit to England, returned to New Zealand by the Port Dunedin, which arrived in Auckland last week. She will pass through Wellington tomorrow on her way to Christchureh. Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Burt and Miss Joy Burt arrived by tho Monowai to visit "Mrs. Burt's daughter, Mrs. John Plimmer. They will stay at Sayes Court. Passengers . returning to New Zealand by the Niagara, which left Vancouver on, October 10, include the following people for Wellington:—Mrs. M. Anderson, the Eev. D. P. Williams, Key. W. J. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. G. Ford, Mr. and Mrs. H. Oldham, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Braisby, Mrs. M. R. Ward; Misses M. W. Gibbs, M. B. Bothani, I. Forsyth, and Mr. T. Jones. Mrs. Eric Bcaven, Papanui, Christchurch, will arrive in Wellington tomorrow to join the Makura for Melbourne. Among recent callers at tho High Commissioner's office, "The Post's" London correspondent mentions the following Wellington people:—Mr. G. F. W. Purton, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Wyard, Miss M. Brierley, and Mrs. J. L. Davey. Dr. J. A. Cowie and Dr. Helen Cowie (Masterton), who have been in England since May, intend returning by the Ruahine, leaving London on October 4, states "The Post's" London correspondent. They have been doing postgraduate work in London, and recently they had a three weeks' motor tour in Scotland. Dr. Helen Cowie and Miss Elizabeth Cowie had a short round of travel on the Coa*?hent, and included Oberammergau and the Austrian Tyrol. Miss Cowie will remain in London for six months. Dr. J. A. Cowie and Dr. Helen Cowio are at present staying with the latter's brother, Mr. J. B. Band, F.R.C.S. (lato of Hokitika), who is a surgeon on the staff of Solly Oak Hospital, Birmingham. The motor tour of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Tun-ell has been unfortunately checked by the serious illness of Mrs. Turrcll. She was taken ill in the middle of August at Liverpool, and later was moved to a private hospital. It is hoped that she will be able to leave the nursing home in about three weeks' time.
