'< ■ ♦ A proportion of the proceeds of the St. Andrew's Day t concert, which is to be held in the Town Hall on Saturday, December 1, by the Scottish associations, is for the benefit of the Wellington Presbyterian orphanages. These homes were established 25 years ago, and celebrate their silver jubilee this year. The board controlling the orphanages plans to make this St. Andrew's Day concert one of the main features of the silver jubilee celebrations. There are nearly '100 girls and boys iv the care of the association, most of whom reside at the' Boys' Home, Berhampore. and the Cirls' Home, Island Bay. Since the inception of thfe work over 600 children have passed through the homes, and the maintenance of the institutions is a heavy responsibility. It is hoped that the citizens of Wellington, especially Scottish people, will attend the concert themselves and induce others to attend, so helping on the deserving work. The concert- promises to be one of the best ever staged by the Scottish fraternity of Wellington, and merits wholehearted support apart altogether from the deserving, charity that will benefit,
