The Minister of . Employment (tho Hon. A. .Hamilton), who has been, absent from AVellington for some weeks on account of illness, returned 1o Wellington yesterday. . The Minister is much improved in health, but it will bo some little time yet before ho is able to resume his full duties as a member of Cabinet. It is his intention to retain the portfolios of Postmaster-General and Tourist and Health Hesorts, . but lie will not resume Employment and Labour until he is absolutely Jit again.

The funeral of the late Mr. A. BurJington, both of Hastings, who. have been on an extended visit to Great Britain, Europe, and the United States, returned today by tho Makura from San Francisco. Mr. W. Townshend, a representative of the Cudahy Packing Company of Chicago, arrived today by the Makura from San Francisco on a business visit. Mr. W, Fair-weather, of Melbourne, accompanied by his wife and three daughters, is returning to Australia by Jtho Makura, which arrived today front San Francisco. He has been in California for the past four and a half years. Mr/ 0. AY. Ward, a member of tho South Australian Bowling Association, is a through passenger to Sydney by, the Makura, whicli arrived today from San Francisco. Ho has been on a visit to England and the United: States.
