CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

In connection with the annual conference of the Baptist Union of New Zealand, a garden party was held on Saturday afternoon at Mr. B. Sutherland's grounds, "Honiewood," Karori, and in the evening a musical festival was provided by the combined choirs. The services at the city and suburban churches yesterday were conducted by visiting members of the clergy. In the afternoon, the Bey. AE. J. Eade prosided at a gathering of united Bible classes, nt which an ad- f dress was delivered by the Rev. J. D. Jensen. At the morning session of the assembly today, the Kov. Dr. Alexander Hodge, 8.A., 8.D., Ph.D., tho now minister of the Tabernacle, Auckland, was welcomed and he was received as a ministerial member of the Baptist Union of New Zealand. .Estimated payments! for grants and

Tho liev. V. 1L Wilkinson addressed the conference on behalf of. tho League of .Nations Union, tho Kov. J. B. Blanehurd on behalf of tho New Zealand Alliance, and the Rev. H. W. Newell in support of the objects of tho Students' Christian Union. Sympathetic replies and promises of support were given, to the deputations on behalf of the Baptist Union.
