IN THE HUTT VALLEY
MORE TEAMS COMPETING
Cricket in the Hutt "Valley claims an exceptionally large number of players. Many appear in the Wellington Cricket Association's competitions, but the Hutt Valley- Association claims many more, this body' haying 'an increased entry of teams for its competitions this season. There are now twenty-four teams under the Hutt Valley Association's banner, and they have;: been divided into two grades (A and B). The indications are that this season's competitions will be even better than those of past seasons. . : Of transfers there have been many. Notable among them are those' of F, Thorn and C. Eliot, from Bandwick to the new Trafalgar Park Club;T; Longford, from Wills to Meadows; B. Morris, from Eandwick to. Bell Park; T. King and J. McC6rrnaCk,, f ronr Gracefield to General' Motors; R. and A. Chudleigh, from: "Chronicle to Metters United; T. Sweeney, -from Meadows to Central; J. Halligan, from, Empire to Meadows; and R. Love, froni Wills to Gear.
New members include: J. Laracy; (from Petone to General Motors), A. Bryant (from Petone to Empire), W. McGrath (from Kilbirnio to Empire), C. O'Halloran (from Petone to Gear), and J. Bennett (from Telephone Exchange to Trafalgar Park). C. Eobinson, a one-time New Zealand representative, is to play for Trafalgar Park this season. Nowadays he bowls with much less pace than when he was New Zealand's fastest bowler. ■
Fitzsimmons, from Canterbury, who is well known as a sprinter, is expected to be playing cricket for Empire this season.
H. T. Lilburne (Bell Park), and H. B. Pollock and C. 0 'Halloran (Gear) are among well-knowTi footballers playing in the Hutt Valley Cricket Association's competitions.
