Bolger continued to lead the field as the result of n steady par round, closely followed by Sper.ce, the young Leura professional, who returned the best card of the day. Spence was in bunker 9on a number of occasions, but recovered brilliantly. Bettington, after being out in 40, returned with 443434434 for 33, which is four under par. Sarazen and Kirkwood were followed by large galleries. They were again troubled by the pace of the greens, but are within striking distance of the leaders. The leading 60 play in the final 30 'holes tomorrow.
