BUILDING SOCIETY LOANS.

A meeting of shareholders of the Wairarapa Terminating Building Society No. 2 Group was hold at Carterton on- Wednesday, when an appropriation of £000 was disposed of by sale. There were four tenders, the successful ones being Mr. T. T. Hughes, Carterton, £05 for £150 loan, Mr. G. S. Phiilpotts, £01 10s for a. loan of £150, and St. Mark's Lodge, £235. for £COO. The lodge is entitled to £300 at present and the other £300 as soon as the money is available. At a meeting of directors held afterwards, it was reported that the final loan in the No. 1 Group had been paid out. Therefore the shareholders have discontinued paying their subscriptions on their-shares. The amount overpaid by some shareholders will be refunded in due course.
