WOOL SALES
AUSTRALIAN, POLICY
YORKSHIRE'S DIFFICULTY
(By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.)
(Received October 13,' 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 12. The "Yorkshire Post" states that the curtailment of wool offerings in Australia is creating considerable difficulty here. Certain trade interests are urging the desirability of a more.clearly-defined policy in Australia, if traders here are to be able to formulate a definite buying policy.
No one wishes to see the primary markets overloaded with offerings, which might lead to a collapse in values, winch ' would be unjustified, even under the present conditions, and to that extent Australia's declared policy of offering sufficient to meet the current demand and adjusting the quantities as the occasion might require, meets with a good measure of approval in principle. "There is a feeling here, however, that when the sales are • announced they should be held, even if Australia were to limit its offerings to 5000 bales a day. Buyers would then at least know where they stood, so long as the quantity is put forward without fail. But under the present system of chopping and changing about they do not know where they stand."
