ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY
Comirtentinj? on an article which appealed recently in this paper on the work of the Royal Life-saving Society, the cknirmw and secretary o£ the society write as follows; — ' _ ,
"In order that the article in question does not convey to the examiners of the society and to the publio in general an. erroneous impression, we wish to explain that the trouble the society is experiencing is entirely an executive one, and has no reference to the work which' has been carried out in the past, and, it is'hoped, will be continued in the future, by _ the examiners and instructors of the society. This side of the society's work, even in the event of the executive powers being transferred elsewhere, will still be eon' tinned in Wellington, so that, as_ far as actual life-saving examination and instruction is concerned, there will be no fallingoff of interest, and those wishing to obtain the awards of the society will have no difficulty in doing so. The attendance of representatives of the various colleges at the meeting to be held in the Y.M.O.A. rooms on Monday, 15th instant, at 8 p.m., will be appreciated by the officers of the society," _____________
