It is reported from Rome that Italy is not participating in the Centenary Air Race. >
Meanwhile, British competitors' arrangements are progressing well. J. A. Mollison intends flying via the Balkans and Turkey, Mustapha Kemal having just permitted him to fly over Turkey, which* previously he refused.
The New Zealander, J. K. Baines, accompanies H. D. Gilman, of Auckland, and Club Captain H. C. "Walker accompanies Squadron-Leader McGregor as assistant pilot in the Manawatu Aero Club's entry. They will fly a Miles Hawk. Baines and Gilman. are flying a Fairey Fox in both speed and handicap events.
