FIRE IN PYRITES MINE

LYONS, October 11. Thirty-two men perished in a fire in a pyrites mine at Saint Pierre, La Paliic.

Desperate efforts were made to master the fire, but air, which had necessarily to be pumped down to the imprisoned minors, helped fan the flames.
