EASTBOURNE FORESHORE

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Permit me to say a word or two on behalf of the ratepayers of Eastbourne. If things went on as "Keep the Sea Back" suggested, we would have a high seawall. The finance, of course, will have come from tho hardhit Government. Now cannot everybody see the next thing to take place? Up will go tho rates, an increase which wo of Eastbourne can ill afford. Now should the Government refuse tho loan may I suggest a way out? Let the council approach the' correspondents with the object of getting from them a joint loan free of interest for material, and perhaps they would also lend a hand to do the work themselves. — I am, etc,

KATEPAYEE.
