LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

ISLAND BAY-BERHAMPORE

The Island Bay-Berhampore Branch of the League of Mothers met recently, Mrs. Hindmarsh presiding, over a hundred being present. The singing of the "Mothers' Hymn" and the repetition of the League prayer 'opened proceedings. Mrs. Hiudmarsh extended a cordial welcome to the visitors, who included members of the Hataitai League Glee Club. She gave a resume of the proceedings at the provincial annual meeting and read the annual report. Several enjoyable items we're rendered by the visiting Glee Club, and Mrs. Stinson, a member from Brooklyn, gave two greatly appreciated elocutionary items, Mrs. Margaret McPherson, the speaker for the afternoon, had chosen as her subject "Woman of the Past and of the Future." Her interesting talkj depicted the advancement, of woman from earliest history to the present day and visualised the influence of woman in the future. Votes of'thanks were accorded the speaker and the performers. The meeting closed with the singing of the-Na-tional Anthenij and afternoon tea was dispensed. . -. -
