BLAZE AT BELFAST

BOARDING-HOUSE DESTROYED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHEISTCHURCH, This Day. A spectacular ' fire at Belfast this morning destroyed a 24-roomed board-ing-house in Bedford Street, owned by the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, and tenanted by Mr. M. Sprott. Seven of the occupants who were awakened by smoke found the house well ablaze. They made a hurried escape partly dressed. The fire brigade found it impossible to save- anything. The flames were first noticed by men returning from a- dance. The building was insured for £2000 in the Alliance Assurance office. The furniture was not covered, and Mr. Sprott is a heavy loser.
