ONE-WAY EXCHANGE TRAFFIC?
(To the Editor.)
Sir,: —Xn a recent issue of your paper I read a lucid article showing why the Government will not allow the exchange bonus to be paid on private money (i.e., money for other than business transactions) *nt from England to New Zealand. • '.'' •"•.■■'::, '■■'■ : •'- ■
As it is the intention of the Government to differentiate I ..hope it will pay the exchange on private money going from New Zealand to England. I: am in the.position of haying' been ~'\ almost ruined by the high exchange: rate. I still send to. England money for^ business purposes in large sujns, and pay the high rate of exchange on'it. Xam vow in the position, however^ of having to send a few hundred pounds to Englandfor private purposes. Can1 you tell me if there is any.reason why the Government should .not permit this transfer free of exchange1? It seems to me that what is sauce for the goose' should be sauce for the gander also.— I am, etc., . ' v 'BUSINESSMAN.:
