USEFUL NORTHERN HACKS
Horowhenua and Wee Musk, two of H. Rama's charges, are getting through plenty of serviceable work at Ellerslie and will be ready.to.,race as,soon as required. They have no immediate engagements, but if brought down'to some of the meetings at this end of the island and at Riccarton they should, pay their way in hack company. Horowhenua was confidently backed at Ellerslie, in the second division .of the Jervois Handicap, but failed to get in the money, and the same thing happened in the Ranfurly Handicap on the. second day.
