OPENING DAY'S PROSPECTS

AUCKLAND, This Day. ihc prospects for the opening day tomorrow of the Auckland Trotting Club's Winter, Meeting at Epsom are very bright, although, of course, the aoiug will be soft.1 'Fields are very good all round and several of the events bear an open appearance.; The old 75-25 system of betting will be in operation. ;

A fine, field is, engaged/in the principal event,, the Adams Memorial pup Handicap,; and. it.lib'-..anticipated ''that the better of .the'two brackets will fight it out... J?. J. Smith holde a particularly strong hand with- Worthy Light and Wrecker, and Tomkinson's stable is represented by" a useful pair in Tempest and ChenwOod:..
